Geoffrey is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in Translational Biology, Medicine and Health after completing MS degree in (medical) Geography at Virginia Tech. He got his BSc in population health from Kenyatta University in Kenya in 2013, during which he completed a research project on maternal health. Thereafter, Geoffrey gained professional experience in several different areas of public health, including health systems’ strengthening. He worked as a water, sanitation, and hygiene training consultant, a country monitoring and evaluation officer in programs related to malaria and other aspects of health and served as a board member for a program working to combat neglected tropical diseases, among other engagements.  Using his undergraduate research findings, Geoffrey co-founded and continues to work with Begin Life Safely.
